Therapy founder
Vladimir Dobrijević, one of the founders of BDA therapy (Biomechanical Development Approach) and a co-owner of the company Biodevel Professional LLC, was born and raised in Zemun, one of the Belgrade municipalities. His upbringing and witnessing the lifelong struggle that his grandmother endured with a severe form of poliomyelitis motivated him and paved the way for him to develop a curiosity and understanding of how the human body functions and a desire to help people with neurological impairments. Scenes of his mother caring for and helping his grandmother to realize her full potential and selflessly supporting her in daily activities left a very strong impression on him and taught him a valuable lesson: only if you truly and fundamentally take an interest, observe, and understand a person’s condition, will you be able to help them. The desire to gain the appropriate knowledge and tools that would enable him to examine and explore the functioning of the human body led him to study medicine and the biomechanics of the human body.
After completing secondary medical school and earning a diploma as a pediatric technician, Vladimir graduated from the College of Applied Health Sciences and became an occupational therapist. He gained clinical experience at the Special Hospital for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Neurology in Belgrade, where he spent four years acquiring knowledge and experience in this field. Working with children and adults with disabilities across Europe, Vladimir gained valuable experience and specialized in working with children/adults with cerebral palsy and other neurological impairments.
From 2010 to 2016, Vladimir received training in biomechanics and worked at ABR Denmark in the position of an ABR practitioner, trainer, and later as a child’s condition assessor.
During this period, Vladimir, with his colleague Slobodan Vujasić, began to develop BDA therapy at a Rehabilitation Center in Slovenia. After three years of observation, research, and development, BDA therapy was created.
Vladimir has 12 years of practical experience working with children and adults with various forms of disorders and brain tissue damage.
